Luke 4:5-8

Today, Pastor Jack shares with us that we’re to not only know our enemy’s strengths, but also his weaknesses. Satan has an overdeveloped ego, which causes him to believe his own lies. Everything is skewed in his mind, and his goal is to drown us in a world of lies. But, our place in this battle is to simply obey the Lord and serve only Him.

Satan’s plan is to overwhelm us. To find a point of weakness. Whether it’s through what we see, or what we hear, he wants to completely disable us. But, the good news is that to know Satan’s plan is to know how to resist him.

“You don’t have to go to the cross,” Satan told Jesus in the desert.  “I can give you what you want right now.  I can give you the whole world!”  On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez examines Jesus’ response to illustrate how we can resist the same temptation.  Are we looking to gain the praise and prestige of this world?  Or will we spend our time pursuing a heavenly agenda that brings an even greater sense of accomplishment?

Every morning, we’re greeted with a choice.  We can spend the day building our own empire by climbing the ladder of success.  Or we can pursue God’s agenda and partner with Him in growing His kingdom.  So which one is worth our time?  On this edition of Focal Point, Mike Fabarez continues our study on the temptation of Jesus.  We can learn from our Savior’s choice between the successes of this world, or the hope of a greater kingdom.
