The Thirsting Soul Satisfied in God.

1 O God, ¹You are my God ; I shall seek You ^aearnestly ; My soul ²thirsts for You, my flesh ^byearns for You, In a ³dry and weary land where there is no water. 2 Thus I have ⁴seen You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. 3 Because Your ⁵lovingkindness is better than life, My lips will praise You. 4 So I will bless You ⁶as long as I live ; I will ⁷lift up my hands in Your name. 5 My soul is ⁸satisfied as with ^cmarrow and fatness, And my mouth offers ⁹praises with joyful lips. 6 When I remember You ¹⁰on my bed, I meditate on You in the ¹¹night watches, 7 For ¹²You have been my help, And in the ¹³shadow of Your wings I sing for joy. 8 My soul ¹⁴clings ^dto You; Your ¹⁵right hand upholds me. 9 But those who ¹⁶seek my ^elife to destroy it, Will go into the ^f¹⁷depths of the earth. 10 ^gThey will be ^h¹⁸delivered over to the power of the sword ; They will be a ⁱ¹⁹prey for foxes. 11 But the ²⁰king will rejoice in God ; Everyone who ²¹swears by Him will glory, For the ²²mouths of those who speak lies will be stopped.
