Psalm 14

CEB 1 Fools say in their hearts, There is no God. They are corrupt and do evil things; not one of them does anything good. NRS 1 Fools say in their hearts, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is no one who does good. CEB 2 The LORD looks down from heaven on humans to see if anyone is wise, to see if anyone seeks God, NRS 2 The Lord looks down from heaven on humankind to see if there are any who are wise, who seek after God. CEB 3 but all of them have turned bad. Everyone is corrupt. No one does good— not even one person! NRS 3 They have all gone astray, they are all alike perverse; there is no one who does good, no, not one. CEB 4 Are they dumb, all these evildoers, devouring my people like they are eating bread but never calling on the LORD? NRS 4 Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call upon the Lord? CEB 5 Count on it: they will be in utter panic because God is with the righteous generation. NRS 5 There they shall be in great terror, for God is with the company of the righteous. CEB 6 You evildoers may humiliate the plans of those who suffer, but the LORD is their refuge. NRS 6 You would confound the plans of the poor, but the Lord is their refuge. CEB 7 Let Israel's salvation come out of Zion! When the LORD changes his people's circumstances for the better, Jacob will rejoice; Israel will celebrate! NRS 7 O that deliverance for Israel would come from Zion! When the Lord restores the fortunes of his people, Jacob will rejoice; Israel will be glad.
