Psalm 16

CEB 1 Protect me, God, because I take refuge in you. NRS 1 Protect me, O God, for in you I take refuge. CEB 2 I say to the LORD, "You are my Lord. Apart from you, I have nothing good." NRS 2 I say to the Lord, "You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you." CEB 3 Now as for the "holy ones" in the land, the "magnificent ones" that I was so happy about; NRS 3 As for the holy ones in the land, they are the noble, in whom is all my delight. CEB 4 let their suffering increase because they hurried after a different god. I won't participate in their blood offerings; I won't let their names cross my lips. NRS 4 Those who choose another god multiply their sorrows; their drink offerings of blood I will not pour out or take their names upon my lips. CEB 5 You, LORD, are my portion, my cup; you control my destiny. NRS 5 The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot. CEB 6 The property lines have fallen beautifully for me; yes, I have a lovely home. NRS 6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; I have a goodly heritage. CEB 7 I will bless the LORD who advises me; even at night I am instructed in the depths of my mind. NRS 7 I bless the Lord who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me. CEB 8 I always put the LORD in front of me; I will not stumble because he is on my right side. NRS 8 I keep the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. CEB 9 That's why my heart celebrates and my mood is joyous; yes, my whole body will rest in safety NRS 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices; my body also rests secure. CEB 10 because you won't abandon my life to the grave; you won't let your faithful follower see the pit. NRS 10 For you do not give me up to Sheol, or let your faithful one see the Pit. CEB 11 You teach me the way of life. In your presence is total celebration. Beautiful things are always in your right hand. NRS 11 You show me the path of life. In your presence there is fullness of joy; in your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
