Psalm 8

CEB 1 LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name throughout the earth! You made your glory higher than heaven! NRS 1 O Lord, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. CEB 2 From the mouths of nursing babies you have laid a strong foundation because of your foes, in order to stop vengeful enemies. NRS 2 Out of the mouths of babes and infants you have founded a bulwark because of your foes, to silence the enemy and the avenger. CEB 3 When I look up at your skies, at what your fingers made— the moon and the stars that you set firmly in place— NRS 3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have established; CEB 4 what are human beings that you think about them; what are human beings that you pay attention to them? NRS 4 what are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them? CEB 5 You've made them only slightly less than divine, crowning them with glory and grandeur. NRS 5 Yet you have made them a little lower than God, and crowned them with glory and honor. CEB 6 You've let them rule over your handiwork, putting everything under their feet— NRS 6 You have given them dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under their feet, CEB 7 all sheep and all cattle, the wild animals too, NRS 7 all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, CEB 8 the birds in the sky, the fish of the ocean, everything that travels the pathways of the sea. NRS 8 the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas. CEB 9 LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name throughout the earth! NRS 9 O Lord, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
