Psalm 47

CEBA 1 Clap your hands, all you people! Shout joyfully to God with a joyous shout! NIV 1 Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy. CEBA 2 Because the LORD Most High is awesome, he is the great king of the whole world. NIV 2 How awesome is the LORD Most High, the great King over all the earth! CEBA 3 He subdues the nations under us, subdues all people beneath our feet. NIV 3 He subdued nations under us, peoples under our feet. CEBA 4 He chooses our inheritance for us: the heights of Jacob, which he loves. Selah NIV 4 He chose our inheritance for us, the pride of Jacob, whom he loved. "Selah" CEBA 5 God has gone up with a joyous shout— the LORD with the blast of the ram's horn. NIV 5 God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the LORD amid the sounding of trumpets. CEBA 6 Sing praises to God! Sing praises! Sing praises to our king! Sing praises NIV 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises. CEBA 7 because God is king of the whole world! Sing praises with a song of instruction! NIV 7 For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise. CEBA 8 God is king over the nations. God sits on his holy throne. NIV 8 God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne. CEBA 9 The leaders of all people are gathered with the people of Abraham's God because the earth's guardians belong to God; God is exalted beyond all. NIV 9 The nobles of the nations assemble as the people of the God of Abraham, for the kings of the earth belong to God; he is greatly exalted.
