

Jeff Johnson is leading us through First John, and as we return to chapter one, we have the opportunity to evaluate our relationship with God! Is it at a good place? Are we living in true fellowship with the Lord? Or have you drifted a bit?

Walking in the light is the steadfast resistance to the enticements of the world system and a steadfast resistance to false teaching.

In this portion of his epistle, the apostle John makes known that he and the others were eyewitnesses-essentially using similar language found in his Gospel: that Jesus is “the light.” And we believers are to walk in that light, and will therefore have fellowship with our Redeemer.

Some are under the impression that Christianity is just another religion. But the truth is, it’s all about a relationship with God. And First John speaks of this, as well as how to best maintain this relationship.

Walking in the light is having a dependence on the cleansing power of the Blood over our sins and obedience to the commands of God.
