2 Crónicas 34:1-6

1 De ocho años era Josías cuando comenzó a reinar, y treinta y un años reinó en Jerusalén.

2 Este hizo lo recto en ojos del SEÑOR, y anduvo en los caminos de David su padre, sin apartarse a la diestra ni a la siniestra.

3 A los ocho años de su reinado, siendo aún joven, comenzó a buscar al Dios de David su padre; y a los doce años comenzó a limpiar a Judá y a Jerusalén de los altos, bosques, esculturas, e imágenes de fundición.

4 Y derribaron delante de él los altares de los Baales, e hizo pedazos las imágenes del sol , que estaban puestas encima; y los bosques, y las esculturas e imagines de fundición, quebró y desmenuzó, y esparció el polvo sobre los sepulcros de los que habían sacrificado a ellos.

5 Asimismo quemó los huesos de los sacerdotes sobre sus altares, y limpió a Judá y a Jerusalén.

6 Lo mismo hizo en las ciudades de Manasés, Efraín, y Simeón, hasta en Neftalí, con sus lugares asolados alrededor.

INTRODUCTION TO 2 CHRONICLES 34

This chapter begins with the good reign of Josiah, the reformation he made in the land, purging it from idolatry, 2Ch 34:1-7, relates the orders he gave to repair the house of the Lord, which was accordingly done, 2Ch 34:8-13, when the book of the law was found and brought to him, which greatly affected him, 2Ch 34:12-19, upon which he deputed some persons to inquire of the Lord, who did of Huldah the prophetess, to whom she gave an answer, which they returned to the king, 2Ch 34:20-28 and the chapter is concluded with an account of reading the book in the ears of all the people, and of the king, and then making a covenant with the Lord to serve him, 2Ch 34:27-33.
