Und darum habe ich dem Hause Elis geschworen: Wenn Ungerechtigkeit des Hauses Elis gesühnt werden soll durch Schlachtopfer und durch Speisopfer ewiglich!

That is why I have taken an oath concerning Eli's family line: No offering or sacrifice will ever [be able to] make peace for the sins that Eli's family committed."

And therefore, I have sworn unto the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be reconciled, not with sacrifices nor with presents for ever.

Darum habe ich dem Hause Eli geschworen, daß die Missetat des Hauses Eli solle nicht versöhnt werden weder mit Schlachtopfer noch mit Speisopfer ewiglich. {~}

Daarom dan heb Ik het huis van Eli gezworen: Zo de ongerechtigheid van het huis van Eli tot in eeuwigheid zal verzoend worden door slachtoffer of door spijsoffer!

Therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli, that the wickedness of his family, or his house, shall not be cleansed with sacrifices and gifts till into without end.
