Families in south-central Texas are grieving, and some are still waiting for word on missing loved ones. Stop what you’re doing and join us in praying for these communities in the midst of heartbreak.

Many are invited or called via the general call of the gospel, which is presented through the Bible, churches, missionaries, and any type of evangelism. Few are chosen means that, of those invited, only the elect (true followers of Jesus) will remain at the wedding feast in the kingdom of God.

The song in chapter 26 is one of salvation, and in response, the people renew their trust in the Lord. Yahweh is the “Rock eternal” (v. 4) he can be trusted over all else.

Advent marks the start of a season of preparation that looks forward to the celebration of Christmas and the second coming of Christ.

“Be still and know that I am God,” Psalm 46:10, is a popular verse for comforting ourselves and others—many people tend to think this verse means to rest or relax in who God is. This verse does encourage believers to reflect on who God is, but there is more to this psalm than one verse—and verse 10 is actually more of a wake-up call to be in awe than a gentle call to rest.

These mothers were strong in the Lord, and they gave everything they had for their children.
