4 Bible Verses to Get You through a Long Winter

Snow in wintertime reminds us of the miracle of Jesus washing our sins whiter than snow by His blood on the cross. Winter can remind us of our dead state and the need for a Savior. Winter can point to the great depths of brokenness and emptiness within ourselves that can only by met by Christ.

Winter reminds us that this is not forever. It will get warm again, the sun will shine more, the plants and flowers will bloom. Just like we are in a broken and sinful world, winter reminds us of the hope that we have in Heaven. Things here are not going to get better, however Heaven is waiting for us and we have great confidence in the beauty and security unfolding for our eternity. Winter tells us the story off our own souls trapped in a cold and dark place in need of the Light of the World to break through. Winter reminds us that we need Jesus.

I hope and pray that these Bible verses will help get you through the winter. It is encouraging to think about the joy we can have and hold onto during this season that is so often dreaded or barely tolerated. Winter serves a greater purpose of preparing for the spring.

Maybe you are in a winter season of life. Hold on tight to Jesus and know that He is refining you and growing you in this time to produce more fruit for His kingdom purposes.
