24 Y compró a Semer el monte Samaria por dos talentos de plata; edificó sobre el monte, y a la ciudad que edificó puso por nombre Samaria, del nombre de Semer, dueño del monte.

1 Kings 16:24

And he bought the hill of Samaria of Shemer, for two talents
of silver
A talent of silver, according to Brerewood ^F6, was of our money three hundred and seventy five pounds, so that this hill was purchased at seven hundred and fifty pounds:

and built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built,
after the name of Shemer, owner of the hill, Samaria;
its name from him was Shomeron, which is the Hebrew name for Samaria; which, according to Bunting ^F7 was six miles from Tirzah, and ever after the royal seat of the kings of Israel.

22 Pero el pueblo que siguió a Omri prevaleció sobre el pueblo que siguió a Tibni, hijo de Ginat. Y Tibni murió, y Omri comenzó a reinar.

25 Y Omri hizo lo malo ante los ojos del SEÑOR, y obró más perversamente que todos los que fueron antes que él;

26 pues anduvo en todos los caminos de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, y en los pecados con que hizo pecar a Israel, provocando al SEÑOR, Dios de Israel, con sus ídolos.
