11 Entonces El dijo: Sal y ponte en el monte delante del SEÑOR. Y he aquí que el SEÑOR pasaba. Y un grande y poderoso viento destrozaba los montes y quebraba las peñas delante del SEÑOR; pero el SEÑOR no estaba en el viento. Después del viento, un terremoto; pero el SEÑOR no estaba en el terremoto.

1 Kings 19:11

And he said, go forth and stand upon the mount before the
Lord
Who would appear there as he had to Moses formerly, though not in the same manner:

and, behold, the Lord passed by;
or was about to pass, for as yet he had not; his messengers first went before him:

and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the
rocks before the Lord;
strong enough to do all this, and so it might:

but the Lord was not in the wind;
as he sometimes is, ( Nahum 1:3 ) , he spake to Job out of a whirlwind, ( Job 38:1 ) ,

and after the wind an earthquake;
that shook the earth all around, and the mountain also, as it did when the law was given on it, ( Psalms 68:8 )

but the Lord was not in the earthquake;
as he was when it trembled in the times of Moses, ( Exodus 19:18 ) .

9 Allí entró en una cueva y pasó en ella la noche; y he aquí, vino a él la palabra del SEÑOR, y El le dijo: ¿Qué haces aquí, Elías?

10 Y él respondió: He tenido mucho celo por el SEÑOR, Dios de los ejércitos; porque los hijos de Israel han abandonado tu pacto, han derribado tus altares y han matado a espada a tus profetas. He quedado yo solo y buscan mi vida para quitármela.

11 Entonces El dijo: Sal y ponte en el monte delante del SEÑOR. Y he aquí que el SEÑOR pasaba. Y un grande y poderoso viento destrozaba los montes y quebraba las peñas delante del SEÑOR; pero el SEÑOR no estaba en el viento. Después del viento, un terremoto; pero el SEÑOR no estaba en el terremoto.

12 Después del terremoto, un fuego; pero el SEÑOR no estaba en el fuego. Y después del fuego, el susurro de una brisa apacible.

13 Y sucedió que cuando Elías lo oyó, se cubrió el rostro con su manto, y salió y se puso a la entrada de la cueva. Y he aquí, una voz vino a él y le dijo: ¿Qué haces aquí, Elías?
