14 Y él respondió: He tenido mucho celo por el SEÑOR, Dios de los ejércitos; porque los hijos de Israel han abandonado tu pacto, han derribado tus altares y han matado a espada a tus profetas. He quedado yo solo y buscan mi vida para quitármela.

1 Kings 19:14

And he said
Elijah, in answer to the question put, and he says the same as before:

I have been very jealous
which the question was designed to draw from him, in order to give him some instructions and directions; which would suggest to him, that though he should not deal severely with Israel, nor with Ahab and his house, yet he would hereafter by the kings he should anoint over Syria and Israel, and by the prophet he should anoint in his room, as instruments of his vengeance.

12 Después del terremoto, un fuego; pero el SEÑOR no estaba en el fuego. Y después del fuego, el susurro de una brisa apacible.

13 Y sucedió que cuando Elías lo oyó, se cubrió el rostro con su manto, y salió y se puso a la entrada de la cueva. Y he aquí, una voz vino a él y le dijo: ¿Qué haces aquí, Elías?

15 Y el SEÑOR le dijo: Ve, regresa por tu camino al desierto de Damasco y cuando hayas llegado, ungirás a Hazael por rey sobre Aram;

16 y a Jehú, hijo de Nimsi, ungirás por rey sobre Israel; y a Eliseo, hijo de Safat de Abel-mehola, ungirás por profeta en tu lugar.
