6 Haz, pues, conforme a tu sabiduría, y no permitas que sus canas desciendan al Seol en paz.

1 Kings 2:6

Do therefore according to thy wisdom
Which though young began to appear in him, even in the life of his father; he therefore exhorts him to use the wisdom he had, and take the first and fittest opportunity to cut him off for his former murders and late treason, as a dangerous man to his government and the peace of it:

and let not his hoary head go down to the grave in peace;
that is, let him not die a natural, but a violent death; and let not his grey hairs be any argument for sparing him, or any reason for delaying the taking of him off, because he would in course die quickly; for he must be now an old man, as old as David, or perhaps older; since he had been his general forty years, even all the time of his reign; see ( 2 Samuel 2:13 ) .

4 para que el SEÑOR cumpla la promesa que me hizo, diciendo: "Si tus hijos guardan su camino, andando delante de mí con fidelidad , con todo su corazón y con toda su alma, no te faltará hombre sobre el trono de Israel."

5 También sabes lo que me hizo Joab, hijo de Sarvia, lo que hizo a los dos jefes de los ejércitos de Israel, a Abner, hijo de Ner, y a Amasa, hijo de Jeter, a los cuales mató; también derramó sangre de guerra en tiempo de paz. Y puso sangre de guerra en el cinturón que le ceñía y en las sandalias que tenía en sus pies.

6 Haz, pues, conforme a tu sabiduría, y no permitas que sus canas desciendan al Seol en paz.

7 Mas muestra bondad a los hijos de Barzilai galaadita, y que estén entre los que comen a tu mesa; porque ellos me ayudaron cuando huía de tu hermano Absalón.

8 Y he aquí, está contigo Simei, hijo de Gera, benjamita de Bahurim; él fue el que me maldijo con una terrible maldición el día que yo iba a Mahanaim. Mas cuando descendió a mi encuentro en el Jordán, le juré por el SEÑOR, diciendo: "No te mataré a espada."
