11 Los hombres de su ciudad, los ancianos y los nobles que vivían en su ciudad, hicieron como Jezabel les había mandado, tal como estaba escrito en las cartas que ella les había enviado.

1 Kings 21:11

And the men of the city, even the elders and the nobles who
were the inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them,
&c.] That Jezebel should contrive so execrable a scheme, and that there should be such sons of Belial among the common people to swear to such falsehoods, need not seem strange; but that the elders and nobles of the city, the chief magistrates thereof, should be so sadly and universally depraved as to execute such a piece of villany, is really surprising. Idolatry, when it prevails, takes away all sense of humanity and justice:

they punctually, exactly, obeyed the orders in them, as follows.

9 Y escribió en las cartas, diciendo: Proclamad ayuno y sentad a Nabot a la cabeza del pueblo.

10 Sentad a dos hombres malvados delante de él que testifiquen contra él, diciendo: "Tú has blasfemado a Dios y al rey." Entonces sacadlo y apedreadlo para que muera.

11 Los hombres de su ciudad, los ancianos y los nobles que vivían en su ciudad, hicieron como Jezabel les había mandado, tal como estaba escrito en las cartas que ella les había enviado.

12 Proclamaron ayuno y sentaron a Nabot a la cabeza del pueblo.

13 Entonces entraron los dos hombres malvados y se sentaron delante de él; y los dos hombres malvados testificaron contra él, es decir, contra Nabot delante del pueblo, diciendo: Nabot ha blasfemado a Dios y al rey. Y lo llevaron fuera de la ciudad, lo apedrearon y murió.
