Listen to 1 Reyes 16:23-28
23 En el a帽o treinta y uno de Asa, rey de Jud谩, Omri comenz贸 a reinar sobre Israel, y rein贸 doce a帽os; seis a帽os rein贸 en Tirsa.
24 Y compr贸 a Semer el monte Samaria por dos talentos de plata; edific贸 sobre el monte, y a la ciudad que edific贸 puso por nombre Samaria, del nombre de Semer, due帽o del monte.
25 Y Omri hizo lo malo ante los ojos del SE脩OR, y obr贸 m谩s perversamente que todos los que fueron antes que 茅l;
26 pues anduvo en todos los caminos de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, y en los pecados con que hizo pecar a Israel, provocando al SE脩OR, Dios de Israel, con sus 铆dolos.
27 Los dem谩s hechos que Omri hizo y el poder铆o que mostr贸 驴no est谩n escritos en el libro de las Cr贸nicas de los reyes de Israel?
28 Y durmi贸 Omri con sus padres y fue sepultado en Samaria; y su hijo Acab rein贸 en su lugar.

1 Reyes 16:23-28 Meaning and Commentary

INTRODUCTION TO 1 KINGS 16

This chapter contains a prophecy of the ruin of the family of Baasha, and an account of his death, 1Ki 16:1-7, and of his son's reigning in his stead two years, who was slain by Zimri one of his captains, 1Ki 16:8-14, and who reigned but seven days, 1Ki 16:15-20, and the people being divided between Tibni and Omri, the party for the latter prevailed, and he was made king, and reigned twelve years, 1Ki 16:21-28, and was succeeded by his son Ahab, a very wicked prince, 1Ki 16:29-33, and the chapter is concluded with the rebuilding of Jericho, 1Ki 16:34.
