17 Hicieron pasar por el fuego a sus hijos y a sus hijas, practicaron la adivinación y los augurios, y se entregaron a hacer lo malo ante los ojos del SEÑOR, provocándole.

2 Kings 17:17

And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through
the fire
To Baal or Moloch, which were the same, and represented the sun, which, as the above writer observes, presides in the element of fire; this was done either by way of lustration, or so as to be burnt, see ( 2 Kings 16:3 )

and used divination and enchantments:
to get knowledge of what was to be done at present, or of things to come, neglecting the word of God and his prophets, and acting against the express law of God, ( Deuteronomy 18:10-12 )

and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke
him to anger;
as Ahab their king did, see ( 1 Kings 21:20 1 Kings 21:25 ) , they were as much the servants of sin as if they had sold themselves to be slaves to it.

15 Desecharon sus estatutos y el pacto que El había hecho con sus padres, y sus advertencias con las cuales los había amonestado. Y siguieron la vanidad y se hicieron vanos, y fueron en pos de las naciones que los rodeaban, respecto de las cuales el SEÑOR les había ordenado que no hicieran como ellas.

16 Y abandonaron todos los mandamientos del SEÑOR su Dios, y se hicieron imágenes fundidas de dos becerros; hicieron una Asera, adoraron a todo el ejército de los cielos y sirvieron a Baal.

17 Hicieron pasar por el fuego a sus hijos y a sus hijas, practicaron la adivinación y los augurios, y se entregaron a hacer lo malo ante los ojos del SEÑOR, provocándole.

18 Y el SEÑOR se airó en gran manera contra Israel y los quitó de su presencia; no quedó sino sólo la tribu de Judá.

19 Tampoco Judá guardó los mandamientos del SEÑOR su Dios, sino que anduvieron en las costumbres que Israel había introducido.
