19 Y el lado sur, hacia el sur, se extenderá desde Tamar hasta las aguas de Meriba de Cades, hacia el torrente de Egipto, hasta el mar Grande; este es el lado sur, hacia el sur.

And the south side southward from Tamar
Not Jericho, as the Targum, Jarchi, and Kimchi, called by this name from the palm trees which grew near it; according to Jerom, this is Palmyra, so called for the same reason; but it is rather Engedi, called Hazazontamar, ( 2 Chronicles 20:2 ) , the line of the southern border began here, and went on, even to the waters of strife in Kadesh;
to the waters of Meribah in Kadesh; so called, from the strivings of the children of Israel with the Lord there, ( Numbers 20:1 Numbers 20:13 ) : the river to the great sea;
it proceeded by the river of Egypt, the river Sihor, the Nile, which is before Egypt, ( Joshua 13:3 ) ( 15:47 ) and so on to the Mediterranean sea: and this is the south side southward;
the south side of the land, and the southern border of it.

17 Y el límite se extenderá desde el mar hasta Hazar-enán en el límite de Damasco, y en el norte, hacia el norte, al límite de Hamat; este es el lado norte.

18 Y por el lado oriental, entre Haurán, Damasco, Galaad y la tierra de Israel, al Jordán; mediréis desde el límite norte hasta el mar oriental; este es el lado oriental.

19 Y el lado sur, hacia el sur, se extenderá desde Tamar hasta las aguas de Meriba de Cades, hacia el torrente de Egipto, hasta el mar Grande; este es el lado sur, hacia el sur.

20 Y el lado occidental será el mar Grande, desde el límite sur hasta enfrente de Lebo-hamat ; este es el lado occidental.

21 Repartiréis, pues, esta tierra entre vosotros según las tribus de Israel.
