Hebrews 7:20

And inasmuch as not without an oath
Our version supplies as follows,

he was made priest;
which well agrees with what is said in the next verse; the Syriac version renders it, "and which he confirmed to us by an oath"; that is, the better hope, Christ and his priesthood, said to be brought in, and by which men draw nigh to God; this is established by the oath of God himself referring to ( Psalms 110:4 ) afterwards cited in proof of it.

18 Porque ciertamente, queda anulado el mandamiento anterior por ser débil e inútil

19 (pues la ley nada hizo perfecto), y se introduce una mejor esperanza, mediante la cual nos acercamos a Dios.

20 Y por cuanto no fue sin juramento,

21 pues en verdad ellos llegaron a ser sacerdotes sin juramento, pero El por un juramento del que le dijo: EL SEÑOR HA JURADO Y NO CAMBIARA: "TU ERES SACERDOTE PARA SIEMPRE ",

22 por eso, Jesús ha venido a ser fiador de un mejor pacto.
