Jeremías 44:28

28 "Y los que escapen de la espada, pocos en número, volverán de la tierra de Egipto a la tierra de Judá. Entonces sabrá todo el remanente de Judá que ha ido a la tierra de Egipto para residir allí, qué palabra ha de permanecer, si la mía o la de ellos.

Jeremiah 44:28

Yet a small number that shall escape the sword
The sword of the king of Babylon, and the other judgments, and which would be but very few; "men of number" ^F11, as in the Hebrew text, which might easily be numbered; Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah, and some few righteous persons among them, as Kimchi and Abarbinel observe: shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah;
they shall make their escape out of the land of Egypt, whither they did not go willingly; and, by one providence or another, shall come back to their native country, the land of Judea, When the rest will not; which must be a distinguishing your to them: and all the remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to
sojourn there, shall know what words shall stand, mine or theirs;
those that are left of the sword, famine, and pestilence, shall know experimentally, by facts laid down, whose words have their effect and accomplishment, stand firm and sure; whether theirs, that promised impunity and safety, peace and prosperity, in their idolatrous practices; or the Lord's, which threatened with ruin and destruction. The Lord is true, and every man a liar; whatever devices are in a man's heart, the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand.

26 Pero oíd la palabra del SEÑOR, todo Judá, los que habitáis en la tierra de Egipto: "He aquí, he jurado por mi gran nombre"dice el SEÑOR"que nunca más será invocado mi nombre en toda la tierra de Egipto por boca de ningún hombre de Judá, diciendo: 'Vive el Señor DIOS.'

27 "He aquí, velo sobre ellos para mal y no para bien, y serán acabados todos los hombres de Judá que están en la tierra de Egipto por la espada y por el hambre hasta que sean totalmente exterminados.

28 "Y los que escapen de la espada, pocos en número, volverán de la tierra de Egipto a la tierra de Judá. Entonces sabrá todo el remanente de Judá que ha ido a la tierra de Egipto para residir allí, qué palabra ha de permanecer, si la mía o la de ellos.

29 "Y esta será la señal para vosotros"declara el SEÑOR"de que os voy a castigar en este lugar, para que sepáis que ciertamente mis palabras permanecerán para mal contra vosotros."

30 Así dice el SEÑOR: "He aquí, entregaré a Faraón Hofra, rey de Egipto, en manos de sus enemigos, en manos de los que buscan su vida, así como entregué a Sedequías, rey de Judá, en manos de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, su enemigo, que buscaba su vida."
