Numbers 10:30

And he said unto him, I will not go
Which was a very peremptory answer, he seemed determined, and at a point about it for the present, though it is, probable he afterwards changed his mind, like the young man in the parable, ( Matthew 21:29 ) ;

but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred;
which were prevailing motives with him, his native country, his relations, and father's house; to this resolution he came, both because of his substance, and because of his family, as Jarchi.

28 Este fue el orden de marcha de los hijos de Israel por sus ejércitos cuando partieron.
29 Entonces Moisés dijo a Hobab, hijo de Reuel madianita, suegro de Moisés: Nosotros partimos hacia el lugar del cual el SEÑOR dijo: "Yo os lo daré." Ven con nosotros y te haremos bien, pues el SEÑOR ha prometido el bien a Israel.
30 Pero él le dijo: No iré, sino que me iré a mi tierra y a mi parentela.
31 Después dijo Moisés: Te ruego que no nos dejes, puesto que tú sabes dónde debemos acampar en el desierto, y serás como ojos para nosotros.
32 Y será que si vienes con nosotros, el bien que el SEÑOR nos haga, nosotros te haremos.
