19 Betsab茅 fue al rey Salom贸n para hablarle por Adon铆as. El rey se levant贸 a recibirla, se inclin贸 delante de ella, y se sent贸 en su trono; hizo colocar un trono para la madre del rey y ella se sent贸 a su diestra.
20 Entonces ella dijo: Te hago una peque帽a petici贸n; no me la niegues. Y el rey le dijo: Pide, madre m铆a, porque no te la negar茅.
21 Y ella dijo: Que se d茅 a Abisag sunamita por mujer a tu hermano Adon铆as.
22 El rey Salom贸n respondi贸, y dijo a su madre: 驴Por qu茅 pides a Abisag sunamita para Adon铆as? Pide para 茅l tambi茅n el reino, pues es mi hermano mayor, y con 茅l est谩n el sacerdote Abiatar y Joab, hijo de Sarvia.
23 Y el rey Salom贸n jur贸 por el SE脩OR, diciendo: As铆 me haga Dios y aun m谩s, si Adon铆as no ha hablado esta palabra contra su propia vida.
24 Ahora pues, vive el SE脩OR que me ha confirmado y me ha puesto en el trono de mi padre David, y que me ha hecho una casa como hab铆a prometido, que Adon铆as morir谩 hoy mismo.
25 El rey Salom贸n envi贸 a Bena铆a, hijo de Joiada, y 茅ste arremeti贸 contra Adon铆as y lo mat贸.

INTRODUCTION TO FIRST KING 2

This chapter gives an account of the charge David gave to his son Solomon, a little before his death, to walk in the ways of the Lord, 1Ki 2:1-4; and of some instructions delivered to him concerning some particular persons he should either show favour to, or execute justice on, 1Ki 2:5-9; and the next account in it is concerning his death and burial, and the years of his reign, 1Ki 2:10,11; after which it relates an address of Bathsheba to Solomon in favour of Adonijah, which was refused, and the issue of it was his death, 1Ki 2:12-25; and the deposition of Abiathar from the priesthood, 1Ki 2:26,27; and the putting of Joab to death for his treason and murders, 1Ki 2:28-34; in whose post Benaiah was put, as Zadok was in the place of Abiathar, 1Ki 2:35; and lastly the confinement of Shimei in Jerusalem, who had cursed David, 1Ki 2:36-38; who upon transgressing the orders given him was put to death, 1Ki 2:39-46.
