Psalm 48:3-13

3 Dios en sus palacios se dio a conocer como baluarte.

4 Pues, he aquí, los reyes se reunieron; pasaron juntos.

5 Ellos la vieron y quedaron pasmados; se aterrorizaron y huyeron alarmados.

6 Allí se apoderó de ellos un temblor; dolor como el de mujer que está de parto.

7 Con el viento solano tú destrozas las naves de Tarsis.

8 Como lo hemos oído, así lo hemos visto en la ciudad del SEÑOR de los ejércitos, en la ciudad de nuestro Dios; Dios la afirmará para siempre. (Selah)

9 En tu misericordia, oh Dios, hemos meditado, en medio de tu templo.

10 Oh Dios, como es tu nombre, así es tu alabanza hasta los confines de la tierra; llena de justicia está tu diestra.

11 Alégrese el monte Sion, regocíjense las hijas de Judá, a causa de tus juicios.

12 Andad por Sion e id alrededor de ella; contad sus torres;

13 considerad atentamente sus murallas, recorred sus palacios, para que lo contéis a la generación venidera.

INTRODUCTION TO PSALM 48

This psalm is entitled a "song psalm", a psalm to be sung vocally; or "a song and psalm" to be sung both vocally and instrumentally; and is one of the spiritual songs the apostle speaks of, Eph 5:19; It was occasioned, as some think, by David's spoiling the Philistines, 2Sa 5:17-21; or, as others, by the deliverance of the people from the Moabites and Ammonites in the times of Jehoshaphat, 2Ch 20:27,28; or, as others, by the deliverance of the inhabitants of Jerusalem from Sennacherib in the times of Hezekiah, 2Ki 19:34,35; though as Kimchi, a celebrated Jewish commentator, owns, it belongs to the times of the Messiah, as the other preceding psalms; and treats of his greatness, and of the praise and glory due to him, and gives large encomiums of his church.
