Luke 18:42 Meaning and Commentary

Luke 18:42

And Jesus said unto him, receive thy sight
Be it to thee as thou desirest, look up and see: thus by a word speaking, and power going along with it, without making use of any means, he fulfilled his desire.

Thy faith hath saved thee;
or has obtained salvation for thee, a temporal salvation; and it may be also a spiritual and an eternal one: for that is the concern faith has in salvation; it is the means of obtaining and enjoying it: Christ, the object of faith, is the author of it.

Luke 18:42 In-Context

40 Jesus stopped and directed that the man be brought to Him. When he had come near, Jesus asked him,
41 “What do you want Me to do for you?” “Lord,” he said, “let me see again.”
42 “Receive your sight!” Jesus replied. “Your faith has healed you.”
43 Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.
