16 Obadiah son of Shemaiah son of Galal son of Jeduthun; and Berechiah son of Asa son of Elkanah, who lived in the settlements of the Netophathites.

1 Chronicles 9:16

And Obadiah the son of Shemaiah
Called Abda the son of Shammua, ( Nehemiah 11:17 )

the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun;
who was Ethan, another of the singers in the time of David:

and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, that dwelt in the
villages of the Netophathites;
the villages about Netophah, which was in the tribe of Judah, ( 1 Chronicles 2:54 ) , ( Nehemiah 7:26 ) which may be understood either of Elkanah, the ancestor of Berechiah, whose dwelling was there; or of Berechiah, and must be rendered,

who had dwelt there;
for now he dwelt at Jerusalem.

14 From the Levites: Shemaiah son of Hasshub son of Azrikam son of Hashabiah, from Merari's family;
15 Bakbakkar, Heresh, Galal, and Mattaniah son of Mica son of Zichri son of Asaph;
16 Obadiah son of Shemaiah son of Galal son of Jeduthun; and Berechiah son of Asa son of Elkanah, who lived in the settlements of the Netophathites.
17 The gatekeepers: Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, and Ahiman. Their brother Shallum was the leader,
18 stationed until now in the King's Gate on the east side. These were the gatekeepers belonging to the Levites' camp.
