24 以 上 利 未 子 孫 作 族 長 的 ， 照 著 男 丁 的 數 目 ， 從 二 十 歲 以 外 ， 都 辦 耶 和 華 殿 的 事 務 。

25 大 衛 說 ： 耶 和 華 ─ 以 色 列 的 　 神 已 經 使 他 的 百 姓 平 安 ， 他 永 遠 住 在 耶 路 撒 冷 。

26 利 未 人 不 必 再 抬 帳 幕 和 其 中 所 用 的 一 切 器 皿 了 。

27 照 著 大 衛 臨 終 所 吩 咐 的 ， 利 未 人 從 二 十 歲 以 外 的 都 被 數 點 。

28 他 們 的 職 任 是 服 事 亞 倫 的 子 孫 ， 在 耶 和 華 的 殿 和 院 子 ， 並 屋 中 辦 事 ， 潔 淨 一 切 聖 物 ， 就 是 辦 　 神 殿 的 事 務 ，

29 並 管 理 陳 設 餅 ， 素 祭 的 細 麵 ， 或 無 酵 薄 餅 ， 或 用 盤 烤 ， 或 用 油 調 和 的 物 ， 又 管 理 各 樣 的 升 斗 尺 度 ；

30 每 日 早 晚 ， 站 立 稱 謝 讚 美 耶 和 華 ，

31 又 在 安 息 日 、 月 朔 ， 並 節 期 ， 按 數 照 例 ， 將 燔 祭 常 常 獻 給 耶 和 華 ；

32 又 看 守 會 幕 和 聖 所 ， 並 守 耶 和 華 吩 咐 他 們 弟 兄 亞 倫 子 孫 的 ， 辦 耶 和 華 殿 的 事 。

INTRODUCTION TO 1 CHRONICLES 23

In this chapter David makes Solomon king, 1Ch 23:1, calls together the princes, priests, and Levites, numbers the latter, and assigns them their proper work, 1Ch 23:2-5, divides them into three classes, 1Ch 23:6-23, when the number of them was taken from twenty years of age, and upwards; the reasons of which are given, partly from the rest the land enjoyed, and partly from the several branches of their work and office in the temple, 1Ch 23:24-32.
