2 Chronicles 14:5

Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high
places and the images
Perhaps the high places in ( 2 Chronicles 14:3 ) design only the high places and altars in Jerusalem, and near it; these in all the rest of the cities of the land; the "images were", as the word signifies, "sun images", either made in the form of the sun, or dedicated to it, or temples for it; (See Gill on Leviticus 26:30),

and the kingdom was quiet before him;
he had no foreign enemy to molest him, and so took that opportunity to reform divine worship, and in that he met with no opposition from his people.

3 除 掉 外 邦 神 的 壇 和 邱 壇 ， 打 碎 柱 像 ， 砍 下 木 偶 ，

4 吩 咐 猶 大 人 尋 求 耶 和 華 ─ 他 們 列 祖 的 　 神 ， 遵 行 他 的 律 法 、 誡 命 ；

5 又 在 猶 大 各 城 邑 除 掉 邱 壇 和 日 像 ， 那 時 國 享 太 平 ；

6 又 在 猶 大 建 造 了 幾 座 堅 固 城 。 國 中 太 平 數 年 ， 沒 有 戰 爭 ， 因 為 耶 和 華 賜 他 平 安 。

7 他 對 猶 大 人 說 ： 我 們 要 建 造 這 些 城 邑 ， 四 圍 築 牆 ， 蓋 樓 ， 安 門 ， 做 閂 ； 地 還 屬 我 們 ， 是 因 尋 求 耶 和 華 ─ 我 們 的 　 神 ； 我 們 既 尋 求 他 ， 他 就 賜 我 們 四 境 平 安 。 於 是 建 造 城 邑 ， 諸 事 亨 通 。
