4 約 哈 斯 懇 求 耶 和 華 ， 耶 和 華 就 應 允 他 ， 因 為 見 以 色 列 人 所 受 亞 蘭 王 的 欺 壓 。

2 Kings 13:4

And Jehoahaz besought the Lord, and the Lord hearkened unto
him
He did not apply in his distress to the calves he worshipped, but to the Lord; who had a regard to his prayer, not for his sake, or any righteousness of his, or even his repentance and humiliation, which were only external; but for the sake of Israel, and because they were oppressed, who were his people, and he their God, though they had sadly departed from him:

for he saw the oppression of Israel;
not only with his eye of omniscience, but with an eye of mercy and compassion:

because the king of Syria oppressed them;
by his incursions upon them, and wars with them.

2 約 哈 斯 行 耶 和 華 眼 中 看 為 惡 的 事 ， 效 法 尼 八 的 兒 子 耶 羅 波 安 使 以 色 列 人 陷 在 罪 裡 的 那 罪 ， 總 不 離 開 。

3 於 是 ， 耶 和 華 的 怒 氣 向 以 色 列 人 發 作 ， 將 他 們 屢 次 交 在 亞 蘭 王 哈 薛 和 他 兒 子 便 哈 達 的 手 裡 。

4 約 哈 斯 懇 求 耶 和 華 ， 耶 和 華 就 應 允 他 ， 因 為 見 以 色 列 人 所 受 亞 蘭 王 的 欺 壓 。

5 耶 和 華 賜 給 以 色 列 人 一 位 拯 救 者 ， 使 他 們 脫 離 亞 蘭 人 的 手 ； 於 是 以 色 列 人 仍 舊 安 居 在 家 裡 。

6 然 而 他 們 不 離 開 耶 羅 波 安 家 使 以 色 列 人 陷 在 罪 裡 的 那 罪 ， 仍 然 去 行 ， 並 且 在 撒 瑪 利 亞 留 下 亞 舍 拉 。
