9 以 色 列 眾 支 派 的 人 紛 紛 議 論 說 ： 王 曾 救 我 們 脫 離 仇 敵 的 手 ， 又 救 我 們 脫 離 非 利 士 人 的 手 ， 現 在 他 躲 避 押 沙 龍 逃 走 了 。

2 Samuel 19:9

And all the people were at strife through all the tribes of
Israel
Excepting the tribe of Judah; they blamed and reproved one another for taking part with Absalom in the rebellion, and especially for their coldness and backwardness in bringing back David to Jerusalem:

saying, the king saved us out of the hand of our enemies;
exposed his life to danger, fought our battles for us, and gained us victory over our enemies, and saved us from them, especially those next mentioned:

and he delivered us out of the hand of the Philistines;
in the times of Saul, and since; which were benefits which ought to have endeared him to them, and were aggravations of the crime of those who had been concerned in the late rebellion; and were such as ought not to be buried in oblivion, and were proper arguments to engage them to return to their allegiance to him, and abide by it:

and now he is fled out of the land for Absalom;
being obliged to quit Jerusalem, and the land of Judea on this side Jordan, and to pass that river; not from a spirit of cowardice, but from tenderness to his son, he did not choose to fight against; and from a concern for his metropolis Jerusalem, lest that should be hurt, as well as for the safety of his person.

7 現 在 你 當 出 去 ， 安 慰 你 僕 人 的 心 。 我 指 著 耶 和 華 起 誓 ： 你 若 不 出 去 ， 今 夜 必 無 一 人 與 你 同 在 一 處 ； 這 禍 患 就 比 你 從 幼 年 到 如 今 所 遭 的 更 甚 ！

8 於 是 王 起 來 ， 坐 在 城 門 口 。 眾 民 聽 說 王 坐 在 城 門 口 ， 就 都 到 王 面 前 。 以 色 列 人 已 經 逃 跑 ， 各 回 各 家 . 去 了 。

10 我 們 膏 押 沙 龍 治 理 我 們 ， 他 已 經 陣 亡 。 現 在 為 甚 麼 不 出 一 言 請 王 回 來 呢 ？

11 大 衛 王 差 人 去 見 祭 司 撒 督 和 亞 比 亞 他 ， 說 ： 你 們 當 向 猶 大 長 老 說 ： 以 色 列 眾 人 已 經 有 話 請 王 回 宮 ， 你 們 為 甚 麼 落 在 他 們 後 頭 呢 ？
