28 於 是 約 押 吹 角 ， 眾 民 就 站 住 ， 不 再 追 趕 以 色 列 人 ， 也 不 再 打 仗 了 。

2 Samuel 2:28

So Joab blew a trumpet
Or caused one to be blown as a signal of a retreat:

and all the people stood still, and pursued after Israel no more;
as soon as they heard the trumpet sound, the meaning of which they understood, they stepped at once, and left off their pursuit:

neither fought they any more;
that day, and perhaps no pitched battle afterwards; for none we read of, though the war continued after this a long time, and there might be often skirmishes, which greatly weakened Abner's party. See ( 2 Samuel 3:1 ) .

26 押 尼 珥 呼 叫 約 押 說 ： 刀 劍 豈 可 永 遠 殺 人 麼 ？ 你 豈 不 知 終 久 必 有 苦 楚 麼 ？ 你 要 等 何 時 才 叫 百 姓 回 去 、 不 追 趕 弟 兄 呢 ？

27 約 押 說 ： 我 指 著 永 生 的 　 神 起 誓 ： 你 若 不 說 戲 耍 的 那 句 話 ， 今 日 早 晨 百 姓 就 回 去 ， 不 追 趕 弟 兄 了 。

29 押 尼 珥 和 跟 隨 他 的 人 整 夜 經 過 亞 拉 巴 ， 過 約 但 河 ， 走 過 畢 倫 ， 到 了 瑪 哈 念 。

30 約 押 追 趕 押 尼 珥 回 來 ， 聚 集 眾 民 ， 見 大 衛 的 僕 人 中 缺 少 了 十 九 個 人 和 亞 撒 黑 。
