15 你 必 要 用 刀 殺 那 城 裡 的 居 民 ， 把 城 裡 所 有 的 ， 連 牲 畜 ， 都 用 刀 殺 盡 。

Deuteronomy 13:15

Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the
edge of the sword
This could not be the work of a single person, nor of the whole sanhedrim, but was what the whole nation was to join in, according to the above note:

destroying it utterly;
pulling down the houses, and demolishing its walls and fortifications, or burning it, as afterwards explained:

and all that is therein;
men, women, and children:

and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword;
this severity was used to show the Lord's indignation against the sin of idolatry, and to deter persons from it, both individuals and bodies of men.

14 你 就 要 探 聽 ， 查 究 ， 細 細 地 訪 問 ， 果 然 是 真 ， 準 有 這 可 憎 惡 的 事 行 在 你 們 中 間 ，

15 你 必 要 用 刀 殺 那 城 裡 的 居 民 ， 把 城 裡 所 有 的 ， 連 牲 畜 ， 都 用 刀 殺 盡 。

16 你 從 那 城 裡 所 奪 的 財 物 都 要 堆 積 在 街 市 上 ， 用 火 將 城 和 其 內 所 奪 的 財 物 都 在 耶 和 華 ─ 你 　 神 面 前 燒 盡 ； 那 城 就 永 為 荒 堆 ， 不 可 再 建 造 。

17 那 當 毀 滅 的 物 連 一 點 都 不 可 粘 你 的 手 。 你 要 聽 從 耶 和 華 ─ 你 　 神 的 話 ， 遵 守 我 今 日 所 吩 咐 你 的 一 切 誡 命 ， 行 耶 和 華 ─ 你 　 神 眼 中 看 為 正 的 事 ， 耶 和 華 就 必 轉 意 ， 不 發 烈 怒 ， 恩 待 你 ， 憐 恤 你 ， 照 他 向 你 列 祖 所 起 的 誓 使 你 人 數 增 多 。
