Isaiah 10:21

The remnant shall return
This is said in allusion to Shearjashub, the name of Isaiah's son, ( Isaiah 7:3 ) which signifies "the remnant shall return", and was imposed on him, to give assurance of it; meaning, either that they should return from the Babylonish captivity, as they did, or to God by repentance; or rather the sense is, they shall turn to the Lord, be converted to Christ, to the faith and obedience of him, as some of them were when he came, a few, not all, only a remnant, as it is explained in the next clause: [even] the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God;
the Messiah, so called, ( Isaiah 9:6 ) . The Targum is,

``the remnant which have not sinned, and are turned from sin; the remnant of the house of Jacob shall return to worship before the mighty God.''

19 他 林 中 剩 下 的 樹 必 稀 少 ， 就 是 孩 子 也 能 寫 其 數 。

20 到 那 日 ， 以 色 列 所 剩 下 的 和 雅 各 家 所 逃 脫 的 ， 不 再 倚 靠 那 擊 打 他 們 的 ， 卻 要 誠 實 倚 靠 耶 和 華 ─ 以 色 列 的 聖 者 。

21 所 剩 下 的 ， 就 是 雅 各 家 所 剩 下 的 ， 必 歸 回 全 能 的 神 。

22 以 色 列 啊 ， 你 的 百 姓 雖 多 如 海 沙 ， 惟 有 剩 下 的 歸 回 。 原 來 滅 絕 的 事 已 定 ， 必 有 公 義 施 行 ， 如 水 漲 溢 。

23 因 為 主 ─ 萬 軍 之 耶 和 華 在 全 地 之 中 必 成 就 所 定 規 的 結 局 。
