Isaiah 29:17

[Is] it not yet a very little while
In a short space of time, in a few years, what follows would come to pass; when there would be a strange change and alteration made in the world, and by which it would appear, that the Lord not only knows, but foreknows, all things: and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field;
the forest of Lebanon should be as Carmel. The meaning is, that the Gentile world, which was like a forest uncultivated, and full of unfruitful trees, to which wicked men may be compared, should through the preaching of the Gospel be manured, become God's husbandry, and be like a fruitful field, abounding with people and churches, fruitful in grace and good works: and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest?
the people of the Jews, who once had the word and ordinances of God, and were a fruitful and flourishing people in religion; through their rejection of the Messiah, and contempt of his Gospel, should be deprived of all their privileges, and become like a forest or barren land: this was fulfilled, when the kingdom of God was taken from them, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits of it, ( Matthew 21:43 ) . 15 禍 哉 ！ 那 些 向 耶 和 華 深 藏 謀 略 的 ， 又 在 暗 中 行 事 ， 說 ： 誰 看 見 我 們 呢 ？ 誰 知 道 我 們 呢 ？

16 你 們 把 事 顛 倒 了 ， 豈 可 看 窯 匠 如 泥 嗎 ？ 被 製 作 的 物 豈 可 論 製 作 物 的 說 ： 他 沒 有 製 作 我 ？ 或 是 被 創 造 的 物 論 造 物 的 說 ： 他 沒 有 聰 明 。

18 那 時 ， 聾 子 必 聽 見 這 書 上 的 話 ； 瞎 子 的 眼 必 從 迷 矇 黑 暗 中 得 以 看 見 。

19 謙 卑 人 必 因 耶 和 華 增 添 歡 喜 ； 人 間 貧 窮 的 必 因 以 色 列 的 聖 者 快 樂 。
