11 他 們 回 答 說 ： 『 我 們 是 天 地 之 神 的 僕 人 ， 重 建 前 多 年 所 建 造 的 殿 ， 就 是 以 色 列 的 一 位 大 君 王 建 造 修 成 的 。

Ezra 5:11

And thus they returned us answer
To the purpose and in the manner following:

saying, we are the servants of the God of heaven and earth;
signifying that they were doing his work, in obedience to his will, and to whom they were accountable:

and build the house that was builded these many years ago;
even five hundred years ago, or thereabout; so that they were not erecting a building where there was none before, but were rebuilding what was in ruins:

which a great king of Israel builded and set up;
King Solomon, who was a great king for wisdom, honour, riches, peace, prosperity, and extent of his kingdom.

9 我 們 就 問 那 些 長 老 說 ： 『 誰 降 旨 讓 你 們 建 造 這 殿 ， 修 成 這 牆 呢 ？ 』

10 又 問 他 們 的 名 字 ， 要 記 錄 他 們 首 領 的 名 字 ， 奏 告 於 王 。

11 他 們 回 答 說 ： 『 我 們 是 天 地 之 神 的 僕 人 ， 重 建 前 多 年 所 建 造 的 殿 ， 就 是 以 色 列 的 一 位 大 君 王 建 造 修 成 的 。

12 只 因 我 們 列 祖 惹 天 上 的 神 發 怒 ， 　 神 把 他 們 交 在 迦 勒 底 人 巴 比 倫 王 尼 布 甲 尼 撒 的 手 中 ， 他 就 拆 毀 這 殿 ， 又 將 百 姓 擄 到 巴 比 倫 。

13 然 而 巴 比 倫 王 古 列 元 年 ， 他 降 旨 允 准 建 造 神 的 這 殿 。
