Shēnméngjì 24

1 Rén ruò qǔ qì yǐhòu , jiàn tā yǒu shénme bú hélǐ de shì , bú xǐyuè tā , jiù kĕyǐ xiĕ xiū shū jiāo zaì tā shǒu zhōng , dǎfa tā líkāi fú jia .

2 Fùrén líkāi fú jia yǐhòu , kĕyǐ qù jià biérén .

3 Hòu fú ruò hèn è tā , xiĕ xiū shū jiāo zaì tā shǒu zhōng , dǎfa tā líkāi fú jia , huò shì qǔ tā wéi qì de hòu fú sǐ le ,

4 Dǎfa tā qù de qián fú bùkĕ zaì fùrén diànwū zhī hòu zaì qǔ tā wéi qì , yīnwei zhè shì Yēhéhuá suǒ zēngwù de . bùkĕ shǐ Yēhéhuá nǐ shén suǒ cì wéi yè zhī dì beì diànwū le .

5 Xīn qǔ qì zhī rén bùkĕ cóng jūn chū zhēng , yĕ bùkĕ tuō tā bànlǐ shénme gōng shì , kĕyǐ zaì jia qīng xián yī nián , shǐ tā suǒ qǔ de qì kuaì huó .

6 Bùkĕ ná rén de quán pán mòshí huò shì shàng mòshí zuò dàngtou , yīnwei zhè shì ná rén de méng zuò dàngtou .

7 Ruò yùjiàn rén guǎi daì Yǐsèliè zhōng de yī gè dìxiōng , dàng núcai daì tā , huò shì maì le tā , nà guǎi daì rén de jiù bì zhìsǐ . zhèyàng , biàn jiāng nà è cóng nǐmen zhōngjiān chúdiào .

8 Zaì dàmáfēng de zāi bìng shàng , nǐmen yào jǐnshèn , zhào jìsī Lìwèi rén yīqiè suǒ zhǐjiào nǐmen de liúyì zūnxíng . wǒ zĕnyàng fēnfu tāmen , nǐmen yào zĕnyàng zūnxíng .

9 Dàng jìniàn chū Āijí hòu , zaì lù shàng , Yēhéhuá nǐ shén xiàng Mǐlìàn suǒ xíng de shì .

10 Nǐ jiè gĕi línshè , bùjū shì shénme , bùkĕ jìn tā jia ná tāde dàngtou .

11 Yào zhàn zaì waìmiàn , dĕng nà xiàng nǐ jiè daì de rén bǎ dàngtou ná chūlai jiāo gĕi nǐ .

12 Tā ruò shì qióngrén , nǐ bùkĕ liú tāde dàngtou guō yè .

13 Rìluò de shíhou , zǒng yào bǎ dàngtou hái tā , shǐ tā yòng nà jiàn yīfu gaì zhe shuìjiào , tā jiù wéi nǐ zhùfú . zhè zaì Yēhéhuá nǐ shén miànqián jiù shì nǐde yì le .

14 Kùnkǔ qióngfá de gùgōng , wúlùn shì nǐde dìxiōng huò shì zaì nǐ chéng lǐ jìjū de , nǐ bùkĕ qīfu tā .

15 Yào dàng rì gĕi tā gōngjià , bùkĕ dĕng dào rìluò . yīnwei tā qióngkǔ , bǎ xīn fàng zaì gōngjià shàng , kǒngpà tā yīn nǐ qiúgào Yēhéhuá , zuì biàn guī nǐ le .

16 Bùkĕ yīn zǐ shā fǔ , yĕ bùkĕ yīn fǔ shā zǐ . fán beì shā de dōu wéi bĕn shēn de zuì .

17 Nǐ bùkĕ xiàng jìjū de hé gūér qū wǎng zhèngzhí , yĕ bùkĕ ná guǎfu de yīshang zuò dàngtou .

18 Yào jìniàn nǐ zaì Āijí zuò guō núpú . Yēhéhuá nǐde shén cóng nàli jiāng nǐ jiùshú , suǒyǐ wǒ fēnfu nǐ zhèyàng xíng .

19 Nǐ zaì tiánjiān shōugē zhuāngjia , ruò wáng xià yī kún , bùkĕ huí qù zaì qǔ , yào liú gĕi jìjū de yǔ gūér guǎfu . zhèyàng , Yēhéhuá nǐ shén bì zaì nǐ shǒu lǐ suǒ bàn de yīqiè shì shàng cì fú yǔ nǐ .

20 Nǐ dá gǎnlǎn shù , zhī shàng shèngxia de , bùkĕ zaì dá . yào liú gĕi jìjū de yǔ gūér guǎfu .

21 Nǐ zhāi pútaóyuán de pútào , suǒ shèngxia de , bùkĕ zaì zhāi . yào liú gĕi jìjū de yǔ gūér guǎfu .

22 Nǐ yĕ yào jìniàn nǐ zaì Āijí dì zuò guō núpú , suǒyǐ wǒ fēnfu nǐ zhèyàng xíng .

Shēnméngjì 24 Commentary

Chapter 24

Of divorce. (1-4) Of new-married persons, Of man-stealers, Of pledges. (5-13) Of justice and generosity. (14-22)

Verses 1-4 Where the providence of God, or his own wrong choice in marriage, has allotted to a Christian a trial instead of a help meet; he will from his heart prefer bearing the cross, to such relief as tends to sin, confusion, and misery. Divine grace will sanctify this cross, support under it, and teach so to behave, as will gradually render it more tolerable.

Verses 5-13 It is of great consequence that love be kept up between husband and wife; that they carefully avoid every thing which might make them strange one to another. Man-stealing was a capital crime, which could not be settled, as other thefts, by restitution. The laws concerning leprosy must be carefully observed. Thus all who feel their consciences under guilt and wrath, must not cover it, or endeavour to shake off their convictions; but by repentance, and prayer, and humble confession, take the way to peace and pardon. Some orders are given about pledges for money lent. This teaches us to consult the comfort and subsistence of others, as much as our own advantage. Let the poor debtor sleep in his own raiment, and praise God for thy kindness to him. Poor debtors ought to feel more than commonly they do, the goodness of creditors who do not take all the advantage of the law against them, nor should this ever be looked upon as weakness.

Verses 14-22 It is not hard to prove that purity, piety, justice, mercy, fair conduct, kindness to the poor and destitute, consideration for them, and generosity of spirit, are pleasing to God, and becoming in his redeemed people. The difficulty is to attend to them in our daily walk and conversation.
