Sheba

Sheba [N] [E] [H]

(on oath ), the son of Bichri, a Benjamite, ( 2 Samuel 20:1-22 ) the last chief of the Absalom insurrection. The occasion seized by Sheba was the emulation between the northern and southern tribes on Davids return. ( 2 Samuel 20:1 2 Samuel 20:2 ) Sheba traversed the whole of Palestine apparently rousing the population, Joab following in full pursuit to the fortress Abel Beth-maachah, where Sheba was beheaded. ( 2 Samuel 20:3-22 )
