Boot

BOOT

boot (ce'on; the King James Version battle; the American Standard Revised Version "armor"; the American Revised Version, margin "boot"):

The word ce'on, found only in Isaiah 9:5 (Hebrew 9:4), is probably a loanword from the Assyrian senu, meaning "shoe," "sandal." The root has the same meaning in Aramaic and Ethiopic. The passage should be translated "every boot of the booted warrior."
