Eshcol, The valley

or The brook of, a wady in the neighborhood of Hebron (Mamre), explored by the spies who were sent by Moses from Kadesh-barnea. ( Numbers 13:23 Numbers 13:24 ; 1:24 ) The name is still attached to a spring of fine water called Ain Eshkali , in a valley about two miles north of Hebron.
