John 17:14-19

14 ¹I have given them your word, and ²the world has hated them ³because they are not of the world, ⁴just as I am not of the world.

15 I ⁵do not ask that you ⁶take them out of the world, but that you ⁷keep them from ⁸the evil one. ^[a]

16 ⁹They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

17 ¹⁰Sanctify them^[b] in the truth; ¹¹your word is truth.

18 ¹²As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.

19 And ¹³for their sake ¹⁴I consecrate myself, ^[c] that they also ¹⁵may be sanctified^[d] in truth.
