Acts 15:7-11

And after there had been much 1debate, Peter stood up and said to them, "Brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, 2that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear 3the word of 4the gospel and believe.
And God, 5who knows the heart, 6bore witness to them, 7by giving them the Holy Spirit just as he did to us,
and 8he made no distinction between us and them, 9having cleansed their hearts 10by faith.
Now, therefore, why 11are you putting God to the test 12by placing a yoke on the neck of the disciples 13that neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear?
But we 14believe that we will be 15saved through 16the grace of the Lord Jesus, 17just as they will."
