Acts 7:56

And said, behold, I see the heavens opened
As they were at the baptism of Christ, (See Gill on Matthew 3:16):

and the son of man standing at the right hand of God;
he calls Jesus "the son of man"; a name by which he often called himself in his state of humiliation; and that though he was now glorified, it being the name of the Messiah in ( Psalms 80:17 ) ( Daniel 7:13 ) as was well known to the Jews; and this Stephen said to show that God was on his side, and to let them know what honour was done him, what divine supports and comforts he had, and that he was an eyewitness of Jesus, and of his being alive, and in glory.

54 Or essi, udendo queste cose, scoppiavano ne’ lor cuori, e digrignavano i denti contro a lui.
55 Ma egli, essendo pieno dello Spirito Santo, affissati gli occhi al cielo, vide la gloria di Dio, e Gesù che stava alla destra di Dio.
56 E disse: Ecco, io veggo i cieli aperti, ed il Figliuol dell’uomo che sta alla destra di Dio.
57 Ma essi, gettando di gran gridi, si turarono gli orecchi, e tutti insieme di pari consentimento si avventarono sopra lui.
58 E cacciatolo fuor della città, lo lapidavano; ed i testimoni miser giù le lor veste a’ piedi d’un giovane, chiamato Saulo.
