Luke 24:15

And it came to pass, that while they communed together,
&c.] About the above said things:

and reasoned;
with one another; about the truth and credibility of the late report:

Jesus himself drew near:
the Persic version adds, "suddenly"; he came up at once to them, as if he had been a traveller on the road, and overtook them:

and went with them;
joined himself in company to them, and travelled with them.

Luke 24:15 In-Context

13 On the same day, two of Jesus' disciples were going to a village called Emmaus. It was about seven miles from Jerusalem.
14 They were talking to each other about everything that had happened.
15 While they were talking, Jesus approached them and began walking with them.
16 Although they saw him, they didn't recognize him.
17 He asked them, "What are you discussing?" They stopped and looked very sad.
