1 Corinthians 15:16 Meaning and Commentary

1 Corinthians 15:16

For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised.
] This is a repetition of the argument in ( 1 Corinthians 15:13 ) made partly to show the importance of it, and partly to observe other absurdities, following upon the conclusion of it.

1 Corinthians 15:16 In-Context

14 If Messiah has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain, and your faith also is in vain.
15 Yes, we are found false witnesses of God, because we testified about God that he raised up Messiah, whom he didn't raise up, if it is so that the dead are not raised.
16 For if the dead aren't raised, neither has Messiah been raised.
17 If Messiah has not been raised, your faith is vain; you are still in your sins.
18 Then they also who are fallen asleep in Messiah have perished.
