Exodus 8:14

And they gathered them together upon heaps
Swept them up, and laid them in heaps out of the way:

and the land stank;
with the stench of the dead frogs, which was another proof and evidence of the reality of the miracle; and that dead frogs will cause such an ill smell appears from the above account of what befell the inhabitants of Paeonia and Dardania, unless that should be the same with this, only the names of places and some circumstances altered; (See Gill on Exodus 8:16).

12 Moshe and Aharon went out from Par`oh, and Moshe cried to the LORD concerning the frogs which he had brought on Par`oh.

13 The LORD did according to the word of Moshe, and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the courts, and out of the fields.

14 They gathered them together in heaps, and the land stank.

15 But when Par`oh saw that there was a respite, he hardened his heart, and didn't listen to them, as the LORD had spoken.

16 The LORD said to Moshe, "Tell Aharon, 'Stretch out your rod, and strike the dust of the eretz, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Mitzrayim.'"
