1 Aftertwodayswas the feast of the passover,andof unleavened bread:and the chief priestsand the scribessoughthow they might takehimbycraft, and put him to death .
2 But they said , Noton the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people.
3 Andbeing*inBethanyin the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat , there came a womanhaving an alabaster box of ointment of spikenardveryprecious;and she brake the box, and poured it onhishead.
4 And there weresome that had indignationwithinthemselves,andsaid , Why*wasthiswaste of the ointmentmade ?
5 Foritmight have been sold for more than three hundredpence,and have been given to the poor.And they murmured againsther.
6 AndJesussaid , Letheralone ; why trouble ye*her? she hath wrought a goodworkonme.
7 For ye have the poorwithyoualways,andwhensoever ye will ye maydothemgood:butme ye havenotalways.
8 She hath donewhatshe*could : she is come aforehand to anointmybodyto the burying.
9 Verily I say unto you,Wheresoever*thisgospel shall be preachedthroughout the wholeworld, this alsothatshe* hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.
10 AndJudasIscariot,one of the twelve,wentunto the chief priests,tobetrayhim unto them.
11 And when they heard it, they were glad , andpromised to givehimmoney.And he soughthow he might convenientlybetrayhim.
