8 Abijam se coucha avec ses pères, et on l'enterra dans la ville de David. Et Asa, son fils, régna à sa place.

9 La vingtième année de Jéroboam, roi d'Israël, Asa régna sur Juda.

10 Il régna quarante et un ans à Jérusalem. Sa mère s'appelait Maaca, fille d'Abisalom.

11 Asa fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de l'Eternel, comme David, son père.

12 Il ôta du pays les prostitués, et il fit disparaître toutes les idoles que ses pères avaient faites.

INTRODUCTION TO 1 KINGS 15

In this chapter we have a short history of the reign of Abijam, 1Ki 15:1-8 and of Asa, 1Ki 14:9-24, both kings of Judah; and of the reigns of Nadab the son of Jeroboam, and of Baasha, who destroyed his family, both kings of Israel, 1Ki 15:25-34.
