Lukas 20:44 Meaning and Commentary

Luke 20:44

David therefore called him Lord
Or, "my Lord", as the Syriac and Ethiopic versions read; or, "his Lord", as the Arabic version. This is the inference from the words before cited ( Psalms 110:1 ) , upon which the following question is asked, how is he then his son?
how can these things be reconciled? in what sense can he be both his Lord and son? (See Gill on Matthew 22:45).

42 Und er selbst, David, spricht im Psalmbuch: "Der HERR hat gesagt zu meinem HERRN: Setze dich zu meiner Rechten,
43 bis daß ich lege deine Feinde zum Schemel deiner Füße."
44 David nennt ihn einen HERRN; wie ist er denn sein Sohn?
45 Da aber alles Volk zuhörte, sprach er zu seinen Jüngern:
46 Hütet euch vor den Schriftgelehrten, die da wollen einhertreten in langen Kleidern und lassen sich gerne grüßen auf dem Markte und sitzen gern obenan in den Schulen und über Tisch;
