Psalms 107:33

He turneth rivers into a wilderness
A country abounding with rivers, as the country round about Sodom and the land of Canaan were, ( Genesis 13:10 ) ( Deuteronomy 8:7 ) . Such an one is sometimes, by the just judgment of God, turned into a desert.

And the water springs into dry ground:
what was like a well watered garden becomes like dry and barren earth, on which nothing grows.

31 die sollen dem HERRN danken für seine Güte und für seine Wunder, die er an den Menschenkindern tut,
32 und ihn bei der Gemeinde preisen und bei den Alten rühmen. {~}
33 Er machte Bäche trocken und ließ Wasserquellen versiegen,
34 daß ein fruchtbar Land zur Salzwüste wurde um der Bosheit willen derer, die darin wohnten.
35 Er machte das Trockene wiederum wasserreich und im dürren Lande Wasserquellen
