In the garden of Eden, God told Adam that there was one tree from which he was not to eat. Unfortunately, Adam and Eve didn't obey this command and sin entered the world. But what does God want us to learn from the fall of man? Without question, there are consequences when we are blind to evil, sin with impunity, and agree to role reversal in a marriage. In this honest and foundational message for married couples, Jeff explains the dangers to look for when we take a bite of the FORBIDDEN FRUIT that is clearly described in Genesis. This is a lesson from the 6-Message series called UNDERSTANDING THE SEXES: GOD’S BLUEPRINT FOR MEN AND WOMEN.

If God is the object of our faith, how can we become good? There is no amount of human effort that can transform us into being good. It is only in asking God, in His goodness, to forgive us that we are renewed.

By what standard is good determined by? Mankind, apart from God is impure and unholy. So, any good that comes out of us, comes from God. Any other standard cannot hold up to God’s infinite goodness.

God, out of His love for us, wants to redeem us when we ask for forgiveness. That’s why redemption is the most prominent theme of the Bible. Our desire to be restored comes from a sense of awareness that we are, by nature, unable to be good.
